LaunchVIC expressions of interest for new CivVic Labs Circular Agriculture Challenge

2 April 2025

The latest CivVic Labs challenge, in collaboration with Agriculture Victoria, seeks innovative technology solutions to embed circular economy principles in farming systems. This initiative aims to maximise efficiency, minimise waste, and unlock new revenue streams for Victorian agriculture.

Prospective participants are required to submit proposals that address the challenge statement: "How can technology create circular economy opportunities in agriculture?" Submissions should focus on areas like material flow and waste reduction, and must demonstrate potential for commercial viability.

Aspiring and early-stage founders can participate by applying through the CivVic Labs website. Selected startups will join a six-week bootcamp where they will receive mentorship, industry insights, and the opportunity to test their ideas with policy makers and Victorian citizens.

Each participating startup receives $15,000 in equity-free funding to develop their ideas during the bootcamp. At the end of the program, two standout teams will be awarded an additional $35,000 to bring their prototypes to life.

The challenge is open to a wide range of technologies that can embed circular economy principles in farming systems. This includes solutions for optimising resource flows, minimising waste, and maximising reuse.

Expressions of interest close at 1pm on Wednesday 16 April.
