Grant funding opportunities
Victorian Energy Upgrades for Businesses
Small businesses can save money by investing in upgrades to energy-efficient products via the VEU program. Businesses can access rebates and discounts on various appliances and equipment including hot water, space heating and cooling, and refrigeration.

The VEU program is open on an ongoing basis.

Distillery Door Program
The Distillery Door Program is a $20 million initiative aimed at supporting and enhancing Victoria's distillery industry. The program offers funding to help distilleries grow their businesses, improve infrastructure, enhance safety, and boost export capabilities. 

Applications for the current round of funding opened on 11 February 2025 and will close at 5 pm on 25 March 2025.

Australia's first National Small Business Strategy


Australia's first National Small Business Strategy, released by the Albanese Labor Government, aims to make it easier for small businesses to operate, innovate and thrive. The strategy outlines a coordinated approach across federal, state and territory governments to elevate small businesses in decision-making, complement existing work, and inform policy-making for better outcomes.

Plan for Victoria released


This Plan covers all of Victoria from metropolitan Melbourne to regional cities and rural towns. The Plan has five pillars of action:

EFTPOS Resilience


Many businesses rely on EFTPOS to accept payments and can face challenges during disruptions such as power outages during storms or other natural disasters and internet outages. There are things you can do to prepare for disruptions to reduce the impacts and keep your business operating.

Take a Lodger Program

Alpine Shire Council is partnering with local real estate agents to introduce the Take a Lodger Program, a creative solution to help address the region’s housing shortages. This initiative encourages homeowners with spare rooms to open their doors to lodgers, providing affordable housing options and strengthening community connections. NewAccess for Small Business Owners

Beyond Blue have developed this program to give small business owners free and confidential mental health coaching. 

Delivered over 6 sessions, a NewAccess coach will work with business owners to provide support and practical skills to manage stress during difficult times.
