Get ready to recreate memories at the historic Myrtleford Memorial Hall!
The Myrtleford Memorial Hall Renewal Project will see extensive refurbishment bring this iconic facility back to life.
After sitting dormant for over ten years, a much-needed internal renewal began in 2020 but was paused in 2021 to ensure the final outcome met the needs of the community. A Community Reference Group was established to provide feedback on the proposed new designs.
From this feedback, the decision was made to incorporate the Myrtleford Visitor Information Centre (VIC) into the Hall to allow greater access for community and visitors, as well as highlight the passionate volunteers that give their time to the VIC. The new design now meets the needs of community members, our VIC staff, and visitors alike.
Due to the age of the building, the Hall had some design and construction challenges that had to be solved to ensure that the building was brought up to modern construction standard and equipped for varied future use.
Major works include the construction of accessible amenities, improved stage access, a new automated accessible entrance, entrance ramp, and accessible paved courtyard.
The project will result in a modern, multipurpose, and flexible community space that is inclusive and accessible to all.
This project has received additional funding from Emergency Recovery Victoria, the Stronger Regional Communities Program, and Creative Victoria.
