The refurbishment of Tawonga Memorial Hall will see the building refurbished to meet current building standards, reinstate a valuable and necessary asset for the community and provide economic benefit with improved facilities.

The Tawonga Community Hall was constructed in the late 1950s and opened in 1961.

Located at 44 Kiewa Valley Highway, Tawonga, the Hall is a valuable community asset that supports general community events and gatherings for residents and businesses in the local area and adjoining communities.

In 2022, we secured funding through Emergency Recovery Victoria to refurbish the Hall to meet current building standards, increase economic and social benefit to the community and meet user requirements by ensuring that proposed building use also complies with current building standards and requirements.

The refurbishment will include upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom and meeting room, as well as a new storage room, upgrades to services and improved access for people with disabilities.

This project has been funded through the Local Economic Recovery, Local Community Program Grants Program, administered by Emergency Recovery Victoria acting by and through the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
