Recall of colorful children's sand products that may contain asbestos - Drop off information

The ACCC has issued a recall for colorful children's sand products that may contain asbestos. Here's some guideance on how to dispose of these recalled products safely for Alpine Shire residents.


The ACCC has offered guidance on how to safely handle and prepare these products ready for disposal (link available below). To dispose of these products, residents can make use of our Porepunkah disposal facility, located at Porepunkah Transfer Station by booking a time and completing the Asbestos Waste Disposal Form prior to disposal (link available below). Forms are also available at the Council office in Bright and libraries in Bright, Mount Beauty, and Myrtleford.
